Totally Renewable in Mallacoota

Formerly the Mallacoota Sustainable Energy Group

We are TRiM

We invite you to live in a healthy, thriving Mallacoota and district – working toward totally renewable energy and self-sufficiency.
The BIG picture is for all our residents (and an increasing number of our visitors) to be actively involved in reducing our overall impact on our environment.

Step-by-step, it begins with understanding your own, household energy use. Where do you use energy? When? What does that energy cost? What actions can you take to reduce your use? Your costs?

Our Projects

Energy Efficient Community Hub

TRiM is working with The Wilderness Collective and their architect on the design and development of an energy-efficient, no/low emissions, financially-responsible community-owned facility

Partnership with AusNet Services for reliable electricity

It has been a goal of ours for years to have stable, reliable, sustainable, renewable energy for Mallacoota and District. This has often seemed like an impossible exercise.

AusNet Services’ Electricity Distribution Price Review

AusNet has commenced its customer engagement process for the Electricity Distribution Price Review (EDPR) 2026-31 and we are taking part.

An initiative born of the post-GCPH GG’s Gippsland-wide thinking.

eBus Project

The first project of the Microgrid Towns Initiative.

PFit Research

The Community Microgrid and Sustainable Energy Project (CMSEP)

This project was launched on 27 May 2021 by the Victorian Government’s desire to ‘increase the resilience’ of several bushfire affected communities – namely Omeo, Corryong and Mallacoota.
