TRiM PROJECTS

Energy Efficient Community Hub

TRiM is working with The Wilderness Collective and their team on the design and development of an energy-efficient, no/low emissions, financially-responsible community-owned facility.

What we do

Our shared vision is to develop the Wilderness Collective Workspace as a showcase of sustainable, renewable and unique technologies and community support.

A Hub that is flexible in nature, that will grow and change with the town and have a mindful footprint that reflects the unique environment in which we live.

We are partnering with companies and research bodies to pilot their technologies.

Our technology focus includes totally renewable energy, water storage and treatment, waste handling, native revegetation and habitat creation, workspace technologies, recyclables, future food systems and repurposed materials.

Benefits

Why we do it
This project will add no to low emissions to our environment. It has the opportunity to act as a case study in sustainable building in a remote community.
It offers those interacting with the facility the opportunity to learn more about everyday renewables and sustainability.
The Founders of the Wilderness Collective are 5 women deeply embedded in our community, with a burning desire to see it thrive.
All the above are in addition to the facility’s primary intent of facilitating lives lived fully in Mallacoota, through the catalysts of lifelong learning, community co-working collaboration and business with purpose.
They have lived experience of the devastation of the bushfires and the decline in the economic viability and employment options within the town and are determined to ensure that our geographical isolation doesn’t commit us to opportunity isolation.

Outcomes

What we work towards

New community hub

This is a new build so will provide a new community facility that has been designed specifically to be energy efficient with low to no emissions.

Renewables Investments

As TRiM will be the provider of electricity “behind the meter” we will be receiving ongoing income that we can put to other renewable energy initiatives

Want to help or have a question?

As you might imagine, a development of this sort takes significant personal energy, financial resources and elapsed time between idea and financial ability to achieve it. Please donate to The Wilderness Collective’s Building Fund Campaign.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
